"Because it's always been a part of my life. It was there with my mom when I was a baby, and it's here now, thanks to Odette. It allows me to live, to be myself." ― Félicie

Félicie "Felicity" Le Bras (Also known as Félicie Milliner or Félicie Lavois) is the main protagonist of the film Ballerina who turns from an orphan dish washer to a ballerina in the Paris Opera. She’s voiced by Elle Fanning.

Félicie's last name was originally Milliner, however, due to regional issues it had to be changed[1]. Summer has also added that "Félicie Miliner" is her full canonical name.

Appearance[]

Félicie is an 11-year-old fair-skinned slender girl of medium height with hip-length fiery red hair with bangs neatly parted from the right side and small fringes in the crease in a French braided tied with light blue ribbons, tourmaline green eyes and some freckles on her cheek.

She mainly wears a black waistcoat of gold buttons with gold linen outlines on the edge, a white blouse with sleeves slightly below her elbow, a white lace lining on her sleeves and collar, a pair of rolled up deep blue denim shorts with a gold button and gray socks over short black leggings and brown leather ankle boots with brown shoelaces. In some scenes, she wears a deep blue denim knee-length skirt with a black trim and a pocket rather than her shorts over her leggings. During her dance battle with Camille, she wears black Mary Jane flats in place of her socks and ankle boots. Every piece of her clothes has patches except for the Mary Janes.

When she’s a student in the ballet company, she often wears her uniform, a white tutu with a light blue ribbon around her waist and a golden butterfly outline pattern on the neckline. Her hair is tied up in a bun and she wears white tights, golden pointe shoes with an indigo choker band necklace.

At the night of the audition, Félicie wears a pale blue ballet top with a golden butterfly outline pattern on the neckline, a golden yellow waistband, white tights and golden pointe shoes.

On the night of the Nutcracker show, Félicie wears a white pancake tutu with dark red flowers, a red band around the waist, and gold circles and lace, a dark red choker band necklace, white tights and Odette's old red ballet pointe shoes.

Personality[]

Félicie is friendly, passionate and never gives up on her dreams, no matter what anyone says about her. She’s quick witted and snarky towards her best friend, Victor, who reciprocates her sarcasm.

A part-time cleaner at an orphanage in Brittany, Félicie escapes the orphanage with her best friend, Victor. She dreams of becoming a ballerina and Camille Le Haut, whose barbaric behavior makes her resentful, with the support of Odette (a former ballerina), she took away her admission letter and took part in the selection of the Nutcracker. Her teacher is Odette.

Biography[]

Félicie was born to an unnamed mother somewhere in France, and was sent to the orphanage at an early age. In her blanket was a blue music box, which she treasures greatly. She became best friends with Victor presumably very early, and they’re very close.

She and Victor made many attempts to escape the orphanage, but all were unsuccessful until Victor constructed his "chicken wings."

After coming to Paris, she parts with Victor and searches for the ballet school. She sneaks in, only to be caught by the janitor. However, Odette shows up and saves her.

Felicie follows Odette home. At first, Odette wants nothing to do with Felicie. Felicie convinces Odette to take her under her wing when she points out that she can help Odette clean for Regine Le Haut.

Regine discovers Odette has taken Felicie under her wing, and demands if Odette will pay for her food using her wages. She glares at Felicie, then spills water on the stairs while she is cleaning.

Felicie hears music coming from a room, and watches Camille Le Haut dance. Camille catches her spying, and loftily brags about the possibility of getting accepted into the Ballet. When Felicie says she plans to do the same, Camille belittles her and throws her music box out the window. A mailman comes to deliver Camille's acceptance letter for the ballet school. Felicie intercepts it and goes to the Ballet school.

She steals the identity of Camille Le Haut to attend the Ballet. When Regine Le Haut finds out, Merante makes a deal that Felicie will be allowed to audition for the part, however, if she fails to get the part, she must leave the ballet school forever.

The night before her audition, Rudy convinces Felicie to go out on a date with him. Felicie tells Odette she wants to go. When Odette insists she stay at home and train, Felicie refuses and goes anyways. The date is a disaster. Victor arrives and he and Rudy start fighting. Felicie becomes frustrated and leaves. That night, she falls asleep on top of the ballet school roof.

She wakes up, and realizes that her audition has started. Felicie rushes and changes into her ballet outfit, arriving just in time. Merante allows her to dance, despite Regine's protests. She falls on both attempts, due to not resting enough and training the previous night. Merante assigns the role to Camille. Regine sends Felicie to the orphanage against her will to add insult to injury.

Felicie is quiet and somber during her time at the orphanage. Mr. Luteau notices this shift in character. However, after a dream about her late mother, Felicie regains her spirit and determination. She attempts to escape that night. Mr. Luteau catches her, but assists her by giving her a ride on his motorbike.

Felicie finds Odette and reunites with her. Then she apologizes to Victor, who has fixed her broken music box.

While cleaning the stage at the Ballet, Camille tries to throw Felicie's music box again, but Felicie snatches it back before she can damage it again. After Camille tells Felicie she is nothing, she and Camille engage in a ballet battle. The dancing starts on the stage, where Camille and Felicie show each other their moves. While they're pirouetting across seats, Camille pulls Felicie's hair, causing her to lose balance, enraging her.

Camille then pushes Felicie down a small flight of stairs. After encouragement from Odette, Felicie continues to dance, and then does a grande jete (which she previously referred to as a "crazy-jumpy thing") down a larger flight of stairs, impressing the audience and Camille herself. Merante takes the two girls' aside and asks them their reasons for dancing. Felicie reveals that her reason for dancing is because it’s an important part of her life and a passion of hers. She’s then given the role of the nutcracker, and shakes hands with Camille.

Felicie visits Victor to tell him the good news. Victor is knocked out by Regine. Regine chases Felicie up the Statue of Liberty with a hammer in an attempt to kill her. However, Victor saves Felicie, and she arrives on time for her recital. Odette gives Felicie her old red ballet shoes, tying the laces for her.

Felicie stands next to Rosita as the curtain rises. The movie ends as she leaps across the stage.

Eventually she became a great ballerina as a result of her efforts.

Félicie's last name[]

This has a lot of fans curious as there are 3 variants of her name: Félicie Le Bras, Félicie Milliner and Félicie Lavois
